Kingdom Builders2.jpg

Beginning in 2025 we will only have two forms of giving at FLAG Church.

  • Obedient Giving (Tithe)

  • Kingdom Builder (Generous Giving)

WHY THE CHANGE?

It makes giving EASY and SIMPLE.

- To make giving less confusing & more convenient. Reducing the challenges in giving.

Think of it this way… Each week as you prepare your tithe and offering – instead of designating your giving to tithe, missions, building, NextGen, outreach, and Home of Hope - you can simply give to Obedient Giving (tithe) and Kingdom Builders (generous giving).

OUR CURRENT MODEL

Designating giving to each: Tithe • Missions • NextGen • Building Home of Hope • Outreach • Bibles & more

NEW MODEL IN 2025 –

  1. Obedient Giving – Tithe

  2. Kingdom Builders – Missions + NextGen + Outreach + Bible + HOME OF HOPE

  • You will prayerfully decide your generous giving to Kingdom Builders.

    • This will be a TOTAL $ amount of the categories that represent Kingdom Builders.

OBEDIENT GIVING (Tithe)

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to be obedient to God’s word and tithe (give 10%) of our full income to the local church. Our obedience in worshipful giving allows the church to provide effective life-giving ministry.

“One-tenth of the produce of the land, whether grain from the fields or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord and must be set apart to him as holy - Leviticus 27:30

KINGDOM BUILDERS (Generous Giving)

A community of fully committed families and individuals who prayerfully commit to give, over and above their tithes, to global missions, local ministry expansion, and the next generation.

Kingdom builders…

  • Have a DREAM for how God has called them to be generous

  • Have a VISION for what God wants to do through them

  • Have a PLAN on how they will fulfill their God given vision

“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. - Matthew 6:19-21

KINGDOM BUILDERS ARE ABOUT

  • GLOBAL MISSIONS - Reaching the nations for Jesus around the world through our world missionaries & global organizations.

  • U.S. MISSIONS - Building the Kingdom of God through U.S. missionaries and organizations.

  • LOCAL MISSIONS - Working with our local partners to share the

  • love of Jesus with the least of these.

  • FLAG CHURCH - Expanding our influence in our community & surrounding communities for Christ. Future church plants and more.

  • NEXTGEN - Preparing the Next Generation to be leaders in God's Kingdom.

WHAT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY?

  • Dream: Have a dream. What if God were to bless you above and beyond what you could ever imagine? What would you love to do?

  • Vision: Ask God to give you a vision for what you can do to help the Kingdom of God grow locally, nationally, and around the world. Be strategic about it and ask God to fulfill that vision through you!

  • Plan: Ask God what you can do consistently. Make a plan – put it in your budget and give that amount each week, month, or year.

OUR GIVING STORY

CODY & MADY RENFRO

Cody and I have been tithing since we were able to have stable jobs throughout college. It was more natural given we both grew up in the church and knew about how God promised He would bless our faithful giving. It wasn’t until later in college and once we got married that Cody read the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace book and applied the biblical and practical principles to our finances that we really saw God move. We were able to pay off a combined amount of ~$40,000 in debt within a combined time of 2.5 years (first within our first 1.5 yrs of marriage, again during our 3-4 year of marriage when we had medical expenses and needed to buy a car). We are (again) debt free and diligently working towards saving to buy a home and starting a family, which we are certain we will see God's blessing and favor in. We also started giving above our tithe towards the Home of Hope this past year, and have since seen even greater opportunities for financial blessing (better paying jobs, promotions, and more free-lance work for Cody). God will stay true to His Word and His Promises, so though saying yes can and will be difficult at times, the promise and blessing on the other side is always worth the sacrifice.
