Welcome to 2020!

The new year provides us with an opportunity to evaluate our lives. We can pause to reflect on the past year; to think about the good, the bad, the opportunities, and the challenges.

We also have the opportunity to consider what the new year might hold. We can consider what God would like to do in us and through us over the next twelve months.

This Sunday we will discover that we can approach the new year with our "box" or our "baggage." Our choice will determine the course of 2020 and beyond.

This Sunday we will continue our series "One Year From Today," as we look at the practice of prayer. We're asking the questions: "As I begin practicing a deeper life of prayer, what will my life look like one year from today?" "As I consistently seek God to move in specific areas, what prayers might I see answered one year from today?"

Mark Batterson says, "The only prayers God can't answer are the prayers we haven't prayed." What are your concerns and needs? What are your hopes and dreams? What has God purposed to do in your life? As we turn these concerns, needs, hopes, dreams and purposes into prayers, I believe God is preparing to do amazing things among us! (Joshua 3:5)

This week we will continue in our message series, "One Year from Today." We have been thinking about what God wants our lives to look like on year from today. On Sunday, we look at one trait that, if sincerely practice, will transform our lives. When we practice this trait we look most like our Heavenly Father, God.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday as we investigate this trait and we dream together about what God might do in our lives this year.

One year from today may seem like it is a long way off... until you think about how quickly 2019 passed. Have you considered what you would like your financial position to be a year from now? Moving beyond living paycheck to paycheck requires a plan. And it requires us to implement the plan. This Sunday, we will discover how to partner with God too realign our finances. And we'll consider how that might impact our lives on year from today.

Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."

If you've ever seen iron sharpen iron, some of the by-products are heat and sparks. Proverbs is telling us that our relationships can often look like that, too... heat and sparks! As we continue our series titled: "One Year From Today," we will investigate the impact of relationships on our spiritual growth. We'll seek to discover how God wants to use people to sharpen us, and we'll ask the question, "What does God want my relationships to look like one year from today?"

Have you noticed that often there is a big difference between deciding and doing? It seems like it is easier to decide to wake up early in the morning for that workout before breakfast then it is to actually get out of bed and do it. This Sunday we will complete our series titled "One Year From Today," as we seek to discover how we can actually do what we have decided.
