WILD COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

Posted in Youth Blog

The WILD youth Ministry was involved in two Community Service project this last Wednesday. The purpose of this was to put into action what we have been discussing the last 4 weeks on POURING out Christ love on others in the form of serving, sharing and giving.

We cleaned windows, floors, and water fountains at the Pittsburg High School. We also helped the Vie Medical Clinic clean up some construction debris on an expansion project they are working on. We ended our evening by spending time in pray in the hall ways of the High School praying for our schools. It was a great evening. To view images please click here.

THE BIG T - Message Series

WILD Youth will be starting a new 3 week series called the BIG T. In this series we will be looking at Temptation and how to navigate and walk away from Temptation. Today’s generation is constantly being hammered with all forms of temptation and this would be a great series for all teens. I encourage all parents that have teens to get their teens to Youth Service on Wednesday at 7pm.

MY APOLOGIES

Dear Family Life Assembly of God,

I would like to take a moment and explain what happened this past Wednesday. During my message, at youth service, I used an inappropriate word to make a point. This caught me off guard and should not have been used.

Let me be vey clear using this word was not a planned statement this was a spur of the moment spontaneous slip of the tongue. This is not who I am and it is not the kind of language I use on a daily basis.

I have diligently worked hard for the last 8 years to earn your trust and I am sorry if I may have let you down in the area of trust or respect. It is so important as a leader for me to keep my guard up at all times and I let it slide in this one case.

I am truly sorry for this and I promise that I will work hard at not letting this happen in the future. I am sorry if this caused any of you teens to be distracted or be miss lead in any way. This was not my intent. My only intent was to catch attention. I would like to convey my apologies to any that might have been offended and I would kindly ask you for your forgiveness.

I would like to keep our forces on all the good that God has been doing in this ministry and do not let this one incident cause any Glory be taken away from HIS workings.

Thanking You

Your Youth Leader

The Friday before we went I prayed to God to change something in my life and He did. He told me I was wrong, he told me I needed help. He told me don't be alone. So I'm not alone and I've started over. This retreat changed my life. The best was meeting some awesome people.

I had a blast at the retreat. All the games we played and the swimming was so much fun. Also there was an awesome concert by FORTRESS! The evening services were really good. They really showed me what God did to Sacrifice for us, which made me realize that I need to give up more of my time for HIM.

During this past weekend at the Wild Retreat, I experienced the Holy Spirit moving through everyone especially when we all had the opportunity to write down our sins on a piece of paper and then nail them up on the cross and ask for forgiveness. During this weekend what stood out to me was that once we go to God and ask for forgiveness and throw away our baggage we all need to forget about our sins and leave them at the cross and not turn back to them because we are forgiven by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

At the 2010 Youth Retreat, I experienced new closeness with my friends in WILD. We played games, we worshiped and we prayed together. My favorite thing was the worship! My brother and my sister also went and it was nice to hang out together with other teens and be friends without parents. Made us feel more like each others friends instead of just brothers and sister. The retreat helped me with my relationship with God, because I was away from TV and stuff and was able to focus more on Him.
